Behind The Scenes
Hello Book Fanatics,
The lovely Kristine Raymond is here with us today. If you want to know more about her work, start here. Let’s take a look ‘Behind The Scenes’.
Author Interview Questions
1. What is your Author pen name?
2. What genre(s) do you write & why?
I’ve written historical western romantic suspense, and now I’ve moved into contemporary romance…for the time being.
3. What inspired you to become an author?
There wasn’t really an ‘a-ha’ moment, more a ‘now’s-the-time-to-try-this’ moment. My husband told me for decades that I should write a book, but it took speaking with a friend who’s an indie author to give me the extra nudge I needed.
4. What advice would you give to aspiring authors?
When you want to give up; don’t. Some of my best ideas have come when I’ve felt my lowest. Absorb every bit of information you can and then tailor it to you and your personality. Don’t try to be someone else.
5. What do you like the most and least about being an author?
What I like most is creating stories – that moment when you write a scene that makes you laugh out loud, or cry, or yell curse words at your character for doing something dumb. The worst? Marketing. I’ve never been good at it and have yet to find what works for me.
6. Have you ever had writer’s block? If so, what did you do to get past it?
All of the time. I don’t know that I’ve ever really gotten “past it”; more like muddled through until inspiration hit again.
7. Who are your favorite authors?
PJ Tracy, Karen Robards, Linda Howard, Sandra Brown…oh, the list goes on and on.
8. What’s next for you; any upcoming events, new releases and etc.?
I’m hosting Pages in the Caves 2.0 on Saturday, September 23 in Cave City, KY if anyone wants to come by. Free admission and lots of awesome authors signing their books. I recently released Reservations for Two, the second in the Celebration series, and am halfway through my WIP, Under the Mistletoe, the third book in the series. Look for that to be released in a month or so.
9. Where can we find you and your work?
You can find links to all of my books on my website – kristineraymond.com. I’m also on Facebook and Twitter, and a bunch of other places that I never post on. I do send out a monthly newsletter with lots of subscriber-only content, so if you want to be in the know before anyone else, sign up here.
Thanks for taking the time to interview me. I appreciate the opportunity to appear on your blog.
